Most famous monument and the research center in the country, established by Ministry of Education in 1964. It is build in the historical building built by Lord Dufferin, who was the Viceroy of India from 1884–1888. Most part of the institute is closed for public, however the open area attracts the tourist a lot.

Jakhu Hill is the highest peak of the Shimla at the height of 8054 ft. From the top of the hill tourist enjoys the beautiful view of the city. The famous ancient Jakhoo Temple dedicated to Lord Hunmana is also on the Jakhu Hill 2.5km from the Ridge Road.
It is dedicated to goddess Kali. It is the ancient temple in Shimla Built in 1845. Kufri, Narkanda, Mashobra, Shimla Reserve Forest Sanctuary, Bantony Castle, Tara Devi Temple are near by tourist places in Shimls. Many tourist who are travelling to Shimla also loves to visit these places. The easiest and the convenient way to reach these places is by taxi.
